A black as onyx squid, garding it's emerald treasure. The sides of the pendant were grooved before baking so I could wire the beads snug in place after it was painted... I'd seen glass bead makers do it with stright wire and I couldn't see why I couldn't do the same with clay and a few extra beads! It's hard to see from the photos(as it looks much like the glear), the squid was dry brushed with silver, so there's a little sparkle in the ocean depths. Pendant; 3cm wide by 4.5cm long approx.  It has a squid in it and thus is awesome by default, but it'd be pretty awesome even without. The bead weave is quite mesmerizing, and the the curling tentacles remind me of the Rhyme of the Ancient Mariner.

Why thank you! I've always wanted to see a squid in ..person? Well, alive... seen them dead but that's hardly the same!
They're very mesmerizing when they move, with all those legs.... should have made this a muilt-strand necklace, that would have fitted better. |
